Chronos – Sands of Eternity RTP, max win & volatility
The numbers behind the hourglass: which RTP versions exist, how to see the one your casino runs, what the 7,500× max win means at UK stakes and how often the game pays.
Chronos RTP: three versions
Pragmatic Play ships Chronos – Sands of Eternity with a default RTP of 96.50%, but casinos may choose one of two lower settings. The game plays the same in all three; only the long-run return changes.
| RTP version | Long-run return per £100 staked |
|---|---|
| 96.50% (default) | £96.50 |
| 95.50% | £95.50 |
| 94.50% | £94.50 |
These are averages over millions of spins, not a promise for any session. A medium-volatility slot can swing well above or below its RTP across an evening, and two players at the same casino can have completely different results. Still, over time a 94.50% version keeps £2 more of every £100 staked than the default — a small gap per spin that adds up for regular players.
How to check the version at your casino
Open Chronos at the casino, press the “i” info button and scroll through the rules. The stated return to player is listed there. If it reads 94.50% and you would rather have the default, you are free to look for a casino that runs 96.50%.
Chronos max win: 7,500×
The top prize is 7,500× the bet, with a quoted chance of about 1 in 1,583,281. A result like that would most likely come from the free spins: 3×3 symbols with up to ×24 each, multipliers that add together, and a Money & Collect level that pays back everything won in levels 1 to 3. At UK stakes the ceiling looks like this:
- £5 stake (UK cap)up to £37,500
- £2 stake (cap aged 18–24)up to £15,000
- £1 stakeup to £7,500
Volatility and hit frequency
Chronos has medium volatility. The hit frequency is 23.36%, about one winning spin in every 4.28, and free spins land roughly once in 225 spins. In practice you should expect plenty of small line wins, with most of the bigger results coming from 2×2 and 3×3 symbols whose multipliers add up, and from the free spins levels.
Stakes and max bet in the UK
The game’s own range runs from 0.20 to 240 per spin, but UK rules cap online slots at £5 a spin, or £2 for players aged 18–24. UK builds also have no autoplay and no turbo spin. If your casino shows Special Bets, the extra 1.5× or 2.5× counts towards that cap, so your base bet has to come down to match. Buy Features are not available in Great Britain.
